About the Police Facility and Police Canine Programs
Meet YOSA & SAURUS
YOSA:
Hi, I’m Yosa, a Certified Police Facility Dog from @ccicanine. I am a Labrador/Golden Retriever mix, and I serve as the Seal Beach Police Department's Facility Dog. I was raised and trained by Canine Companions, a non-profit organization that provides service dogs to those in need. I am frequently used to aid in the investigation of crimes, provide comfort to victims and witnesses during interviews and court proceedings, help victims process grief and loss, lower tension and stress after traumatic events, engage with the public during community events, and so much more!
SAURUS:
Ahoj! Volám sa Saurus a som nemecký ovčiak Sable Coat zo Slovenska 🇸🇰. Okrem ukladania zloduchov do vyrovnávacej pamäte bol Saurus vycvičený aj na detekciu strelných zbraní. Tento dôležitý nástroj pomôže zabezpečiť, že ak sa podozrivý pokúsi ukryť alebo odhodiť strelnú zbraň, nebezpečnú zbraň nezostane nevinná osoba, dieťa alebo iný zločinec, aby ju našiel.
ENGLISH TRANSLATION: Hi! My name is Saurus and I'm a Sable Coat German Shepherd from Slovakia. In addition to catching bad guys, Saurus has also been trained to detect firearms. This important tool will help ensure that if a suspect attempts to conceal or discard a firearm, the dangerous weapon is not left behind for an innocent person, child, or other criminal to locate.
